A lay movement of men and women who live the Salesian spirituality in their particular state in life.
The vision of Saint John Bosco to extend his ministry, to the young and poor, to the far corners of the earth could not be realized without the help of lay men and women. It is this foresight that inspired into being, in 1876, the Association of Salesian Co-operators.
Salesian Co-operators are thus the essential lay component of the Salesian family and live the charism of Saint John Bosco in their own secular reality. Inspired by Don Bosco’s apostolic project to contribute to the “salvation of the young”, they work both explicitly and implicitly for the good of the Church and society, in a manner adapted to their own circumstances and personal possibilities.
The Salesian Co-operators of St. Benedict’s welcome any lay Catholic, 18 years of age or older, who desires to discern a vocation to the Salesian family as a Co-operator. We welcome you to contact us for more information on this journey to personal holiness in the spirit of Saint John Bosco.
